Bonnie Brewster, Wheaton Piano Teacher
Bonnie Brewster has taught piano in her childhood home in Wheaton, Illinois to all ages and levels of students for 25 years. She also has several years' teaching experience with preschool music classes for young children. Bonnie is a past president of the West Suburban chapter of the Illinois State Music Teacher's Association (ISMTA). She has served on the board for many years, and was voted Member of the Year for 2012.
Bonnie has been the Music Director and Pianist for the DuPage Unitarian Universalist Church in Naperville, Illinois, since 1987. Her favorite thing is collaborating with other instrumentalists in duets and small chamber music groups. Playing with the young musicians in church is a special treat! Studio recitals are held at the church every spring.
Thirty and forty-five minute private lessons are offered weekly in Bonnie's Wheaton home, along with occasional group lessons. All her students are encouraged to enroll in the Achievement in Music Exams given by the Illinois State Music Teachers Association at Wheaton College every fall and spring. The Theory exams are offered in November, and include a written test, harmonization, transposition, sight reading, and ear training. The Performance exams are given in March and cover technique and repertoire.
Parents are enthusiastic about the motivating music that Bonnie finds for their children. An eclectic mix of Classical, jazz, and pop music will keep your student interested and practicing!
Lessons can be arranged to fit your schedule, generally in the afternoons and evenings. Please call or email for a free introductory lesson. See special offers for current students.
